This sloka is from Gaathaasaptashati written by Haala of Satavaahana dynasty. This is in Maharashtree Prakrit language.

सो अत्थो जो हत्थे तं मित्तं जं णिरन्तणं वसणे |

तं रुअं जत्थ गुणा: तं विण्णानं जहि धम्मो   ||

(गाथासप्तशती)

It alone is wealthy when it is within one’s own   hands. He alone is the friend who is always associated with adversities. It is beautiful when it is endowed with character, and it alone is knowledge when it is acceptable to Dharma.

 

సో అత్థొ జో హత్థే తం మిత్తం జం ణిరంతరం వసణే

తం రూఅం జత్థ గుణా: తం విణ్ణానం జహి ధమ్మో

(హాలుని గాథాసప్తశతి)

ఎల్లప్పుడూ మన అధీనంలో ఉన్నదే అసలైన సంపద. కష్ట సమయాల్లో అంటిపెట్టుకుని ఉన్నవాడే అసలైన మిత్రుడు . గుణాలతో కూడి ఉంటేనే అది అసలైన  సౌందర్యం. ధర్మ బద్ధమైన జ్ఞానమే అసలు సిసలైన జ్ఞానం .

(सोsर्थ: यो हस्ते तन्मित्रं यन्निरन्तरं व्यसने | तद्रूपं यत्र गुणा: तद्विज्ञानं यत्र धर्म:) || Please convey this message to at least five of your friends
