A Unique Poem on Lord Vinayaka

मातामहमहाशैलं महस्तदपितामहम्

कारणं जगतां वन्दे कण्ठादुपरि वारणम्   [dprc1]

Maataamaha mahaashailaM

mahastadapitaamahaM

kaaraNaM jagataaM vande

KaNThaadupari vaaraNaM

 I salute the God (Vinayaka) who has the great Himalaya as his Matamaha (mother’s father) , who has no pitaamaha ( father’s father), who has an elephant head on his neck and who is said to be the creator of the worlds.

मातामहमहाशैलं =who has the great mountain as his matamaha (mother’s father)

अपितामहम् = one , who has no grandfather (Father’s father)

जगतां = for all the worlds

कारणं = cause. by being the creator

कण्ठात् +उपपरि = on the upper part of the neck  

वारणम्   [dprc2] = who has elephant head

तत्+मह:= That great being

वन्दे = I salute.

I salute that great being whose matamaha ( mother’s father) is the great Himalaya , who does not have pitaamaha ( Father’s father) , who has elephant’s head on his neck and who is said to be the creator of all the worlds.

 

మాతామహ మహాశైలం మహస్తదపితామాహం

కారణం జగతాం వందే కంఠాదుపరి వారణం   

మాతామహ మహాశైలం= గొప్పపర్వతమే ( హిమాలయం ) మాతామహుడుగా ( తల్లికి తండ్రి )   కలవాడు  

 అపితామాహం = పితామహుడు (తండ్రికి తండ్రి) లేనివాడు

జగతాం = సర్వలోకాలకు

కారణం = కారణ భూతమైనవాడు (సృష్టికర్త )

కంఠాత్+ ఉపరి= కంఠo పైన

 వారణం= ఏనుగు (ముఖం ) గల

 తత్+మహ: = ఆ తేజస్సునకు  

వందే = నమస్కరించు చున్నాను

పర్వతరాజైన హిమవంతుడే మాతామహుడుగా కలవాడు , పితామహుడు లేనివాడు ,

 కoఠముపైన ఏనుగు (తల) కలిగినవాడు , సర్వలోకాలకు సృష్టికర్తయైన 

( గాణాపత్యులు వినాయకుని సృష్టికర్తగా భావిస్తారు)  ఆ గొప్పతేజస్సుకు నేను నమస్కారం చేస్తున్నాను .
