‘యథా రాజా తథా ప్రజా:’ అన్నారు పెద్దలు. రాజు ఎలా ఉంటే ప్రజలు కూడ అలాగే ఉంటారని అర్థం . ఈ నియమం అన్నిటికి వర్తిస్తుంది. తండ్రి  ఎలా ఉంటే కొడుకూ అలాగే ఉంటాడు. గురువెలా ఉంటే శిష్యుడు అలాగే ఉంటాడు. 16వ శతాబ్దానికి చెందిన ప్రముఖకవి నీలకంఠ దీక్షితులు కలివిడంబనం  అనే తన అధిక్షేపకావ్యంలో(satirical poetry) కొంతమంది కుహనా గురువులు మరియు వారి శిష్యుల లక్షణాలను చాల చక్కగా వర్ణించాడు .

వాచ్యతాం సమయోతీత:   స్పష్టమగ్రే భవిష్యతి

ఇతి పాఠయతాo గ్రంథే కాఠిన్యం కుత్ర వర్తతే?

“ చదువు. నాకు టైము ఐ పోయింది. నీకు ఇప్పుడు అర్థం కాకపోయినా ముందు ముందు అదే అర్థం అవుతుంది” అని పాఠాలు బోధి౦చే వారికి అసలు కష్టం ఏముంటుంది?  ఇక ఇటువంటి కుహనా గురువులకు వారి అదృష్టం కొద్ది కొంతమంది శిష్యులు దొరుకుతారు. ఇక వాళ్ళ సంగతి చూద్దాం.

అగతిత్వమతిశ్రద్ధా  జ్ఞానాభాసేన తృప్తతా

త్రయ: శిష్యగుణాహ్యేతే మూర్ఖాచార్యస్య  భాగ్యజా:

         

ఆ చుట్టుప్రక్కల మరో అధ్యాపకుడు ఎవరు  లేని వారు, అనవసర విషయాల పట్ల విపరీతమైన శ్రద్ధ కనబరిచేవారు, ఏమి తెలియకపోయినా తనకున్న మిడి మిడి జ్ఞానంతోను లేక తప్పుడు జ్ఞానంతోనూ చాల చాల  సంతృప్తి పడే వారు శిష్యులుగా వారికి దొరుకుతారట       

Nilakanthadikshita, who lived in 16^th century, was a great poet and also a well versed scholar. He wrote a satirical work, Kalividambanam. In this work, he wonderfully depicts the characteristics of some pseudo teachers and students.

वाच्यतां समयोsतीत: स्पष्टमग्रे भविष्यति

इति पाठयतां ग्रन्थे काठिन्यं कुत्र वर्तते?

 “Read quickly. There is no time. If you don’t understand now it will be understood to you in course of time” Thus teach some teachers. They can teach every subject and find no difficulty in teaching any subject because they will not explain any thing.  It is their methodology of teaching.

अगतित्वमतिश्रद्धा ज्ञानाभासेन तृप्तता

त्रय: शिष्यगुणाह्येते  मुर्खाचार्यस्य भाग्यजा:    

Of the good fortune, the teacher of the above kind gets a student who has no other go except accepting him to be his teacher as there is no any other teacher in and around; over politeness and who is satisfied  with the wrong knowledge he possesses. Such disciples are available to pseudo teachers by their good fortune alone.  This was the situation even in 16^th century. What to say about the present day to day situation.
