The three types of teachers
Dr.
Ch. DurgaprasadaRao
If we analyze the entire teaching community we normally come
across three types of teachers. Their nature and their characteristics are
codified in a small poem and the poem runs like this.
बहवो गुरव: सन्ति
शिष्यवित्तापहारका:
विरळा: गुरव: सन्ति
शिष्यचित्तापहारका:
There are many teachers, who are sishya + vitta +apaharakas (शिष्य+ वित्त + अपहारका:)
, which means that those who steal away the wealth of their students.
But there are teachers who belong to another category and they are
called (shishya+ chitta + apahaarakaas (शिष्य+चित्त+अपहारका:) who, steal or attract the hearts of their pupils. But their number is very less.
There are also some
teachers who belong to still another category who are known as shishya + chit +
taapa + haarakaas (शिष्य + चित्+तापहारका: ) who remove the mental agony by dispelling the ajnana
(nescience) hidden in the inner hearts of their disciples. But they are very
small in number. Their number is almost negligible.
1. शिष्यवित्त + अपहारका: = Those, who steal the wealth of their pupils
2. (शिष्य+चित्त+अपहारका:) Those, who, steal or
attract the hearts of their pupils
3. शिष्य + चित्+ताप +हारका: Those, who remove the mental agony by dispelling
the ajnana (ne science) hidden in the inner hearts of their
disciples.
