ఉతత్త్వ : శ్రుణ్వన్న శ్రుణోత్యేనాం

ఉతోత్వస్మై తన్వం విసస్రే

నేటి విద్యార్థులు మార్కుల్లో హీరోలు జ్ఞానంలో జీరోలు అన్నారొక పెద్ద మనిషి . దానికి కారణం అర్థం చేసుకోకుండ బండగా కంఠస్థం చెయ్యడమే. అందుకే అర్థం కాని చదువు వ్యర్థం అంటుంది మన సంస్కృతి. వేదం అర్థం చేసుకోకుండ బండగా చదివేవాణ్ణి నిందిస్తూ అర్థం చేసుకుని చదివేవాణ్ణి ఎలా మెచ్చుకుందో స్వయంగా చూడండి. అర్థజ్ఞానం లేనివాడు కళ్లతో చూస్తున్నా ఏమీ చూడనట్టే. చెవులతో వింటున్నా ఏమీ విననట్టే. అర్థం చేసుకుని చదివేవాడికి, భార్య భర్తకు స్వయంగ వశమై అన్నీ సమర్పించుకున్నట్లు సరస్వతి తనంతట తానే సంపూర్ణంగా వశమౌతుంది.

उत त्व पश्यन्न ददर्श वाचं

उत त्व श्रुण्वन्न श्रुणोत्येनाम्

उतो त्वस्मै तन्वं विसस्रे

जायेव पत्यु: उशती सुवसा

Veda , while severely criticising the person who recites Vedic hymns by rote, also appreciates one who studies and gets by heart with the knowledge of it.

He , who sees not even though he is seeing ; listens not even thogh he is listening, but to him who studie s the Veda with meaning Saraswati unfolds herself without any reservation as does wife to her husband of her choice, clothed In beautiful raiment.
